Plan with Me | September 2017

Hello September! It's my favorite time of year! Fall feels like fresh beginnings. It's also my birthday month which, for me, is  a time of thinking through new goals and future adventures.

I decided to mix it up from my usual planner and test an Erin Condren Life Planner. I have heard so much about these planners, but the style didn't seem quite for my neutral loving self-until the neutral version came about as well as the hourly layout. My personal Filofax was great for jotting down an appointment and keeping a few to-do's, but lately, I have been wanting to take a bit of a deeper dive into my time and seeing what I can make from each day.

Additionally, I wanted to live more in the present and celebrate the little things. I had been following Paper & Glam on YouTube and on Facebook for a while, and finally made the jump to ordering some stickers. Couldn't resist the fall colours and the cutest of icons to make even cleaning dishes look glam!

A Tray of Stationery...

This little tray has been through quite a few repurposes. At first, it was used to store nail polishes and when the nail polish collection quickly got out of hand it stored extra beauty bits. Over the weekend, I did a desk organization overhaul as my drawer dedicated to office supplies was over flowing. I decided to try the tray as a way to store some of the influx-aka washi & sticky notes.

A Selection of Filofax Weeks

For my birthday this past September, Preston got me a Filofax. Already being a planner and stationery addict, I was instantly hooked. I shared a bit of my Filofax in this post here. I can't believe the overwhelming response I got- I'm pretty sure it's my most popular post! So today I thought I would share some of my favourite weeks that I have decorated in my Filofax.

DIY | Make-up Brush Holder

My polka-dot craze continued, and this past week I did a simple DIY project that incorporated the design. DIY brush holders are nothing new, but it was fun & easy enough that I thought I would share.

DIY | Birchbox Drawer Organizer

I love receiving my Birchboxes each month. Not only do I love the samples,  I love the boxes. I never want to throw them away since they just seem to have so much potential! Awhile ago, I saw this organizer built out of past Birchboxes on Birchbox's blog. I thought it was such a fun way to recycle previous Birchboxes. After I saw the tutorial, I decided I would make one as well; however, it took me quite a few minutes to realize that I didn't have enough boxes at the time. Well, now I have a ton of them (I'm approaching the one-year mark!) and decided to try it again. I thought I would post a tutorial since I found this one to me a bit confusing, and I had to tweak several steps for it to work properly.

Desk Organization

As I showed in my Seven, last week I rearranged & reorganized my most well-used place in the apartment. Though I am one to grab my computer & papers and set myself up on the couch, bed, kitchen counter, & even the floor, I love being able to work at a nice, clean desk. Our only size requirement in leasing our apartment was enough space for us both to have our own desk. Living in Brooklyn, this can be a tall order. Thought it's a bit cramped we each managed to create our individual office spaces. Mine just has a bit more colour & beauty products. Today, I thought I would share my space.

Apartment Therapy's January Cure

I love Apartment Therapy as a resource for organization, decoration, and inspiration for small space living. Though my apartment in Brooklyn is definitely tiny, it's a huge reflection on my personal self. So I decided to participate in the January Cure to help me focus on my living space which can be taken for granted in the day-to-day shuffle. Every day of the month, you will get an email to an "assignment" to help you stay on track getting your home clean and organized. It just started on January 2nd so feel free to sign up for the emails here!

New Year's Day | 2013

It's a brand new year! I can't believe that it is 2013 already. I had a great 2012 & have a good feeling that 2013 is going to be amazing as well (though I am not in love with the number.) And with this new year comes a new calendar. I love my technology and am completely dependent on my iPhone, but there is something about a physical planner that I can't give up. It's one my favourite things to purchase each year. Today I thought I would share with you some of my agendas to inspire you to be a little more organized in 2013.

DIY Bookends from Design*Sponge

After my boyfriend and I moved to Brooklyn, unpacked our moving truck, and built all our IKEA furniture.... I realized we were missing more of the little things. Odds & Ends, Knicks & Knacks. We had to leave a lot of our stuff behind in Florida as well as make room to combine both of our things in order to fit in our tiny 350 square foot apartment! One thing that I really wanted for our bookshelves were bookends. I had been pinning ideas, but everything seemed to girly for him & too expensive for me. So when I came across this post on a DIY project for Alchemy Bookends, I knew I had to make it. Design*Sponge is one of my favorite websites for home decorating, entertaining, and DIY projects.
My apartment has horrible lighting; everything is yellow-tinted.
