Review | tarte Rainforest of the Sea Make a Splash set

I love tarte for make-up and self-tanner, so of course, I had to try some of the new Rainforest of the Sea skincare. Conveniently for me, Sephora was featuring this handy Make a Splash sampler set for ten bucks. Perfection.

This set comes with the Marine Boosting Mist, Drink H2O Hydrating Boost, and Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. The cleansing gel has a great consistency, starting as a gel and turning into a frothy foam. I can't say that I agree with the waterproof make-up removing claim, but I did love it for a clean, yet hydrated feel. I love toning mists and ran through the Marine Boosting Mist sample quickly. It smells like fresh oranges. It says it can be used as a make-up setting spray, but I used it after cleansing with the gel for an extra dose of skincare.  A generous size for the moisturizer and again, a lovely texture. I have been using it in the morning. It keeps my skin glowing while letting make-up go on smoothly.

There seems to be a lot of new beauty products in the Rainforest of the Sea range, and this set was a good introduction to the line. I'm glad I decided to try it out and even picked up an extra for a friend. The packaging is gorgeous and perfect for summer.

Have you tried anything new from tarte?

Nail Art | Pool Blue

Summer vibes with these nails. The bright blue shades remind me of floating in a pool. I have been missing my nail art! I used Zoya Blu, lightest pale blue, and Zoya Sia, deep cobalt, with a make-up sponge to make the gradient effect. When I don't know what to do for a mani, a gradient is always a good option. This would be a fun one for a pedi too.

What's been on your nails so far this summer?

evladyfit, Blogilate's PIIT28, & Tone It Up Bikini Series

I am back on the fitness bandwagon! I just finished my Day 16 workout of PIIT28, a 28 day Pilates program by Blogilates. I feel so much stronger and love that I have a daily workout to keep me moving and focused. With this newfound motivation, I started a new Instagram account, evladyfit, to keep spirits up, increase my accountability, and join in with others on this journey. Having a set plan was really key to maintaining this habit for me. I needed something concrete to check off each day, so I love the PIIT calendar and schedule. Next on my fitness goals is to complete the Tone It Up Bikini Series. It's 8 weeks of working out and healthy eating. I am so excited to add the meal prep and new recipes to my lifestyle. The second round starts June 27th, so now is the perfect time to join! I grabbed the bundle and feel set and excited to start.

Do you do Blogilate's workouts or Tone It Up's? How do you stay motivated to workout and eat healthy?

A belated April & May Beauty Favorites

Well,  it seems I took an unexpected hiatus. I have a ton of blog posts planned but have yet to find the time to sit & write! Today, I thought I'd catch you up to speed with what I have been loving these past few months.

In April, Preston & I took a trip to Taiwan. We had an amazing time-just check out the pictures for proof. I brought some of my favourite beauty staples as well as discovered a few new favourites. I decanted and packed up my holy grail shampoo and conditioner Sake Bomb from DryBar. This is my second set of bottles from my initial purchase. Another DryBar favourite is Mr. Incredible, a leave-in conditioner. It was new when I picked it up, but alas I am just mentioning it now. Months later. Still loving the Mineral Fusion Lash Curling Mineral Mascara from Whole Foods for dark, long, and thick lashes. For an even thicker lash appearance, I have been tightlining with this set of kohl eyeliners from Physician's Formula. I can't go a day without using the Blame It On the Nars blush palette. I can contour, blush, and highlight all in one little kit. It even has the brush. We forgot to pack sunscreen which we learned our mistake rather quickly,  so we picked up this sunscreen from Biore. The gel consistency was easy to apply.  To hydrate, I have been loving The Body Shop Body Butter in Green Tea. The scent is so light and fresh. Finally, on the last day of April, Preston & I used these Panda Warming Eye Masks to get through the seemingly never ending flight back to New York.

I have been trying to do a no-buy, which I have to say I am pretty proud of myself so far. Not that I've been perfect-but my bank account can attest to progress. I kept to my April favourites into May (and now June) only adding a few things to the rotation. I have been loving Too Faced Brow Envy for perfectly natural brows. It's always a fav, but last month, I found myself reaching for it more than my other brow loves. I have been on a sample testing kick and discovered this gem, Josie Maran Argan Enlightment Illuminizer. I dab a little bit on my cheek bones before foundation for glowing skin. In the shower, I have brought back the scent of my youth. Middle and high school memories are full of Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon. It's a classic. And for my only make-up purchase in May (because I ran out!), Andalou Naturals Coconut Water Visibly Firm Day Cream. I needed a new moisturizer and on a trip to Whole Foods picked this one out. I love the texture. It's hydrating, dries quickly for make-up, and has a light scent. The packaging is pretty cute too.

So now you are updated on my beauty world for the past couple of months- leave some of your recent favorites in the comments!
