Happy Easter | Lush Bunch of Carrots

I have such fond memories of Easter. Even through college, my mom would hide eggs around the backyard and make up gift baskets for my sister and me. If I was still in the same state, I am sure I would find little pastel eggs marked with a 'K' hidden by the pool. Now that I am in New York, Easter has been a new tradition. Preston and I go visit Preston's grandmother in New Jersey. I love spending the afternoon on the deck in between helping make deviled eggs and mashed potatoes. Perhaps, I'll bring some plastic eggs and hid them in the woods.

Nail Art | Spring Gradient

Happy Friday! I am quite looking forward to the weekend and thought I would share my spring/Easter mani. I love a good gradient and have post quite a few over the years. I am loving this super springy colour combo and kind of want to dye some eggs to match...

Review | Liz Earle Skincare

Last Friday, I went to a lovely breakfast at Birchbox to learn more about the brand Liz Earle. My first discovery of the brand was their cult product the Cleanse & Polish, which I received in a Birchbox back in October. It quickly became a favourite and is part of my Evening Skincare Routine. I was so excited to be able to discover more products from the line and share my thoughts with you.

Birchbox | April 2014

Now this is a theme I am identifying with at the moment as evidence by my past few weekly updates. I am all for a rainy day of good reads, movies, naps, and pamper sessions. However, I am not too pleased to have to sludge around the city avoiding 4-inch deep puddles. But as the card says, 'April showers bring May flowers', and I am happy to experience this omen of spring.

The Weekend | Smorgasburg

This weekend was jam-packed with warm weather activities. It felt like summer- I even got my first sunburn of the year. Preston, my friend, Vanessa, and I decided to go to Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. It's a ginormous food market. We wanted to try a bit of everything, which is impossible, but we did manage to hit up quite a few different vendors.

Review | Elf Smudge Pots

I have now mentioned these little pots of creamy shadows several times now (see here & here). So without further ado, here is a review on the Elf Smudge Pots. There are nine total shades ranging from pearly white to deep blue. I picked up four of them: Back to Basics, Brownie Points, Cruisin Chic, and Poppin Party.

Zoya Spring Water Marble

So apparently this is an annual thing for me as I happened to post a very similar Spring themed Water Marble last year. So check that one out because it might actually be better. Water marbling is definitely a practice makes perfect type of nail art. And I have been out of practice. Even so, it always ends up looking super cool and different. My first water marble ever was actually with some foil finished Zoyas as well...& yes, you can see that one too right here.

Seven

This week's Seven is highly focused on the weekend. It felt like the start of old traditions thanks to the warmer (though not quite there yet) weather.

[Finished reading Orange is the New Black & now even more anxiously awaiting Season 2]

[Iced Coffee is back as my drink of choice. Stumptown is easily available in Brooklyn,
but it always reminds me of our trip to Portland last year.]

[Hi! We're Preston & Kim, and we love our neighborhood.]

[People's Pops at the Brooklyn Flea]

[Followed up the long walks with some reading time with the little fam.]

[The Food Trucks are backkk! We started with a favourite-Kimchi Tacos
If you google evladylrebmik & food trucks, there are quite a bit of Seven's with this same view
...what can I say? I love food trucks.]

[& tried something new-Coolhaus Ice Cream Sandwiches.
I got Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream & Coconut Almond cookies. Yum!]

Hope you had an amazing week!

A Tray of Stationery...

This little tray has been through quite a few repurposes. At first, it was used to store nail polishes and when the nail polish collection quickly got out of hand it stored extra beauty bits. Over the weekend, I did a desk organization overhaul as my drawer dedicated to office supplies was over flowing. I decided to try the tray as a way to store some of the influx-aka washi & sticky notes.

Zoya Normani

Now, if you follow my Instagram you have basically seen this whole post, but I figured I'd blog about it as I did with Zoya Odette. Basically exactly the same, complete with mani mug shot. Zoya Normani was my other pick from the Naturel Collection.

Trying New Things...

I picked up a few new drugstore make-up items recently and decided to try them out and document the results. These items were all listed in my Spring Make-up Wishlist. So here are my first impressions of these new releases.
