Plan with Me | September 2017

Hello September! It's my favorite time of year! Fall feels like fresh beginnings. It's also my birthday month which, for me, is  a time of thinking through new goals and future adventures.

I decided to mix it up from my usual planner and test an Erin Condren Life Planner. I have heard so much about these planners, but the style didn't seem quite for my neutral loving self-until the neutral version came about as well as the hourly layout. My personal Filofax was great for jotting down an appointment and keeping a few to-do's, but lately, I have been wanting to take a bit of a deeper dive into my time and seeing what I can make from each day.

Additionally, I wanted to live more in the present and celebrate the little things. I had been following Paper & Glam on YouTube and on Facebook for a while, and finally made the jump to ordering some stickers. Couldn't resist the fall colours and the cutest of icons to make even cleaning dishes look glam!

Souvenirs from Taiwan

[Sheet Masks]

I hope you enjoyed the pictures from our adventures in Taiwan. Today, I thought I'd share some of the souvenirs we picked up. We didn't have much time for shopping, and I have been working on a no-buy (more on that to come), so we didn't make it a priority. We did want to bring back a few things to share with friends and family and to serve as reminders of our trip.

One thing I knew I had to get while in Asia was sheet masks. I had so much fun going from Watsons to Watsons trying to find a bunch of different kinds. And laughing at some of the funny ones, including 'Girl on Period'. I ended up with a few from Korea and made in Taiwan. I am excited to try them out with friends in a typical sleepover situation, and I sent a few to my mom and sister to try. Preston & I used the panda heating eye masks on the plane, made the 16 hours much more comfortable.

[Pineapple Cakes]

[Alishan Oolong Tea]

We couldn't leave without bringing back some tea. Alishan is famous for their oolong. We brought back two different kinds. A little goes a long way with oolong as the tea leaves unfurl, so we will enjoy these for awhile. Every time I open the pantry,  I am remind of our trip. I love seeing that cute red train.

To go with our tea, we brought back a box of pineapple cakes. Now, these did not last long. We sent a few to family to try and pretty much ate them all in the first couple of days back.

[Ocarinas]

For my brothers, I found these handmade ocarinas. They had just got back from Puerto Rico where they got wooden frogs (the ones where you rub the stick on the back to make sounds), so I thought these turtles would be a good pair.

[Washi Tape]

[Coloring Book]

And then, I couldn't resist a few new stationery items. I found the little animal washi tape at a Japanese themed discount-type store. The succulent and the gold bamboo are better quality and from the brand Dailylike. I got those at the Eslite bookstore. I could have been in that stationery section all day. In Chiayi, we passed by a bookstore and decided to go in. I instantly saw this 'A Million Cats' coloring book and knew I needed it. I mean we had a long plane ride coming up. I picked up this mini pack of colored pencils at the airport- just in time for the flight.

ABM Happy Mail | March 2016

Loving the spring vibes of last month's Happy Mail. I need to have a spring cleaning of my stationery collection, and start sending more snail mail regularly! I am loving the cacti card, watercolour 'thank you', bicycle, and little rain cloud notepad.

ABM Happy Mail | January & February 2016

Yup, mail issues again. I actually ended up receiving February before January. I just wanted to quickly share these cute cards. My favs were the cinnamon roll with gold foiled dots and the cake with the star toppers. I don't think it's the baked goods that are getting me, just the simple illustration and colour palette. Lots of pink these past couple of months which isn't exactly my style. Though, I love a good coloured envelope. I also really like the 'Happy Mail' stamp. There hasn't been a stamp before, and I thought it was a great addition to the kit-something you can use again and again for all your cards.

ABM Happy Mail | December 2015

This little package arrived after I was in Florida for the holidays. It was like second Christmas opening it up. I loved all the gold foil details and bold illustrations. The 'This is my year' new year's resolution card was perfect for getting excited about 2016. I also loved all the stickers, especially the little washi strips. They will be perfect for Filofaxin'. I loved the images of the beets, taxis, and shake, and the gold details of the marbled 'Thank You' card and the solar system.

Are you going to send more snail mail in 2016?

Holiday Card 2015

I love the idea of sharing with friends and family a yearly photo update. What started as a tacky (on purpose!) photo shared on Facebook, went to a photo printing evening-plus some rubber cement. This year I decided to go all out with some professional printing. I decided to go with Tiny Prints. I received their catalog in the mail and fell in love with the variety of designs. I went with a classic Christmas theme. Of course, adding a touch of gold foil! I added on the tree envelope liners and buffalo plaid return address labels. I can't wait to write a personal message on the back and mail these pretties off!

Ones that didn't quite make the cut!

ABM Happy Mail | October & November 2015

I had a huge shipping issue last month, so my poor Happy Mail envelope never made it to me. ABM customer service was fantastic and shipped me a new one. So I figured I would share it as well as the most recent month, November, of Happy Mail.

October came with some bold, yet simple designs for an array of occasions. I didn't notice too much of a theme-just colour-wise lots of pink and orange. My favourites of October were lipstick 'Thank You' card (I know just the person to send this to) and the sequinned 'Heck Yes'. I love that there was finally some washi tape included!

November is giving me strong 90s vibes. The plaids are so Cher from Clueless! Lots of different messages this month from the usual thank you's and birthdays to more specific anniversaries and babies. My favourites are the washi stickers in various plaid patterns, the celebrate with silver foil cocktails, the fun enveloped 'thank you', and the nail polish 'you're so fancy' (though I wish the text was foiled!)

This is still one of my favourite subscriptions. I love having the perfect card on hand and for such a value. I do have to say these past two months haven't been my favourite compared to earlier ones. That, of course, might just be a taste thing and comes with the surprise subscription territory!

Sugar Paper x Target 2015

Woo-hoo! The 2015 Sugar Paper for Target collection is here (It hit my store Nov. 5th). I love a fresh calendar and planner for the new year and always stock up on extras to give to friends and family over the holidays. This year I went with the leatherette style planners in blush and gold in the large and medium sizes and the kraft and blush large calendars. I was hoping to find some of the wrapping products but didn't have any luck at my local Target. I'm excited to wrap these pretties up.

Did you pick up anything from the collection?

ABM Happy Mail | September 2015

I am in love with this month's theme. Coffee & Fall. All the cards have a fall colour scheme or orange, golden yellow, burgundy, and kraft paper. It's making me wish for cooler weather and a foamy latte.

My favourite cards were the iced coffee & hot tea card, the latte picture, falling leaves, and the fall coloured 'Congrats'. I love the patterns of the washi stickers, especially the little mugs and burgundy 'life is beautiful'. The emoji flags are super cute and will be perfect for planning. I am thinking up ways to use the cut-out coffee wrappers. I think maybe a monthly goal list for October & November.

ABM Happy Mail | August 2015

Another fun neon, silver foil month. I love having a large assortment of stationery on hand. They are pretty to look at and functional for legit get-togethers as well as for just-for-the-heck-of-it moments.

Here were my favourites this month. I used the smashed cupcake 'Happy Birthday' card already. Love the neon envelope and silver foil detail. Succulents & cacti are always a win. I love the simple design of the moon card and the engagement ring card. The moon phases would be cool to use as a print. I love the black envelope though and the silver envelope for the engagement ring.

The larger prints are an easy was to get some art going or even start a gallery wall. They are always so motivating-perfect for an office space or dressing table.

ABM Happy Mail | July 2015

Happy Mail! There hasn't been a month of disappointment with this one, so if you are a stationery lover, I highly recommend. Everything is so pretty & useful. It's been awesome to always have the perfect card on hand for any occasion.

My favourite items this month are definitely the stickers. The envelope sealing succulent terrariums are perfection. As a Filofax-er, I can always use more alpha stickers and these neon coral ones are so pretty for a summer spread. The prints this month were inspiring as always. I plan on framing the Joss Whedon quote as a gift to a friend. Happy Birthday cards are always welcome. I used the Zoolander one as Preston's B-day card as we had just re-watched the movie, so the timing was too perfect. Can't help but love the Taco and the #soulmates cards too.

ABM Happy Mail | June 2015

Happy Mail, Happy Mail. This month featured blue foil and some funny sayings.

My favourite this month is the 'Get It Girl' card with the pool print background. I am so ready for Florida and the pool image is just getting me that much more excited for lazy pool days. Though it's a card, I have it hung up as a print in my office for some motivation. I love the simplicity of the 'positive vibes only' print, and I have already used several sheets out of the rainbow 'Please Note' pad.

A Beautiful Mess Happy Mail | May 2015

Happy Mail! Love this subscription, and it seems that I have lots of May occasions so having a stack of cards available has been super convenient. This month almost everything is glammed up in gold foil. The foiled 'Happy Birthday' cards are my most used from the subscription, so I am glad to have this smaller pink version on the ready. This month, my favourite has to be the 'Get to Work' print. It's perfect. Now, I just have to decide whether to have it in my office at home or bring it to the cube. The 'You're Twisted' card made me chuckle and the green background is very pretty. I am sticker obsessed, so I love the emoji envelope stickers and the pink word sheet. I am also a lover of the succulent varieties, so the 'you're my favorite' card is another top pick for me.

ABM Happy Mail | April 2015

I am getting serious 80s vibes from this month's Happy Mail. I love when the month features foil, and they took it up a level with the silver holo. Lots of fun cards this month and colourful extras.

I love when I know exactly who I am going to send a card to, the "that's perfect for ____" feeling. The emoji girl twins definitely was like that. Plus, it has a cute gray & white polka dot envelope. Other favourites include the 'Thinking of You' Zebras and punny Campfire card. The holo placement was perfect. I love the use of it on the car card and the pills in the 'Get Well Soon' card. I think the weekday notepad is going to be super useful for planning in the Filofax.

I feel like a preteen girl again with that rainbow holo glow! Also, Rococo & I are bffs, so it's appropriate she is photobombing.

ABM Happy Mail | March 2015

I just loveee Happy Mail. I need pen pals though, so I end up hoarding all of it! This month featured cute animals and rose gold foil (insert heart-eyed emoji here). Some of my favourites are the 'Hello There!', 'You Got This', and 'Don't Stop Get It, Get It' card. I think the latter two are perfect for  the upcoming months with graduation season approaching as a more modern congratulations card. And that cat face. I can't even. I am also loving the cute shopping list, neon tags, and the stickers that are like the ones from December but in colour. I might just have to make some more dividers for my Filo. The seasons ones would be perfect to break up the weekly agenda section.
