The Body Shop | Camomile Cleansing Balm & Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream

I recently added a couple of new items into my skincare routine. Surprisingly, I haven't tried much from The Body Shop's range, but I am really excited about these products and trying out more in the future.

I have been researching (and adding to my imaginary shopping cart) cleansing balms for quite awhile now. The Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm has been on my Skincare Wishlist since September...Before spending the cash on that, I figured I should see if a cleansing balm is even something that would work for me and my skin. Plus, I had heard great things about The Body Shop's Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter, and at $16, I figured that would be the best place to start out. And I am so glad I did. I am absolutely loving it; it made it into my February Beauty Favourites. It makes washing your face quite enjoyable. I like the look of the aluminum tin, though I know it's not the most convenient packaging. The balm inside is firm, but it's easy to press into and get product. You only need a small amount, and it dissolves make-up quickly. I have been using it day and night, just because I love how it feels. It's super silky and hydrating. I generally use it as a second cleanse at night after already removing my make-up, mainly to avoid the crazy panda eye look. If you have ever been interested in a cleansing balm, I would highly recommend checking it out.

I have been needing a moisturizer after running out of a couple of favourites (see here). The Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream had great reviews, so I decided to go for it. It's consistency is a cream/gel hybrid with your average lotion-like smell. It absorbs quickly and leaves a matte finish without making my skin feel dehydrated. Perfect for applying in the mornings before make-up. If you have oily skin and find most moisturizers to be too heavy, this might be the day cream to try. I have to say, I like it now, but I know I will like it even more during the spring and summer months. Now here is to hoping that the NYC winter will be over soon...

Have you picked up any new skincare products recently?
