Julep Maven | May 2013

Today I thought I would share this month's Julep Maven's box. The theme is "Set the Stage." It's very "Great Gatsby" -esque. Not what I was expecting for May, but I love this collection! I decided to go with the Modern Beauty box. This is the newest style-profile featuring only products. I couldn't go without nail polish though, so I added a couple of this month's new shades.

 Box Breakdown
Flower Bobby Pins
American Beauty Mascara
New York Jazz Trio
Sugar Lip Scrub
Coco Nail Varnish*
Paris Nail Varnish*
*add-ons

The packaging is gold, black, and art deco all over. Gorgeous. It also has a nice weight and feels very luxurious.
This month featured two sets of lipstick trios: New York and Paris. The Modern Beauty box (and my preference) was the New York Jazz Trio which features Tea for Two, Satin Doll, & Lady in Red. Again, can I just say how gorgeous the packaging is. Beautiful, vintage feel. The lipsticks are mini sizes. They have a nice citrus scent.

New York Jazz Trio
Tea for Two | Sheer nude with sparkle
Satin Doll | Sheer poppy
Lady in Red | Opaque dark red

The lip scrub smells delicious! Instantly upon opening the golden ball, you smell sweet brown sugar. Yum. I will definitely enjoy using this.

For nail colours, I chose Coco & Paris. Coco is a beautiful deep burgundy/oxblood creme, which I admittedly favoured due to it's name (I call my cat Coco all the time.) Paris is a light bronze holographic glitter top coat. So sparkly and unique. I loved every colour in this collection.

Are you a Julep Maven? What did you think of this month's theme & boxes?

  1. Send me some goodies! I have like no make-up...

I'm literally still using that tarte eyeshadow palette you gave me...and my urban decay palette from a good few years ago...
