Review | Biore Self Heating One Minute Mask

I love when magazines give little freebies, but I feel like I haven't experienced that in awhile. However, the March 2014 Allure came with quite a few foil packet samples and a lot of spring trend make-up ideas. One ad that caught my eye was the new charcoal formulated Biore products. I don't use Biore products too often as they are a bit gimmicky but sometimes it's fun to use a nose strip or a one-minute self heating mask...

The advert came with a sample of the Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser, which I tried but am going to have to pass on. It was a thick gel and a bit heavy on the menthol. For a daily cleanse, I prefer to use more creamy cleansers as they aren't as stripping. What also came with the advertisement was a $3 off coupon. As I said I can get suckered in by skincare gimmicks, so I decided to use the coupon to try the Self Heating One Minute Mask. The package came with 4 individual packets. I was really intrigued by the idea of a one-minute mask as sometimes I  admittedly skip masks because I convince myself I don't have the 15-20 minutes to spare. After trying it out, I would say that I would call this more of a treatment than a mask as you don't leave it on. For the one-minute, you are supposed to massage it into your skin with a bit of water to activate the heating. The consistency isn't like your typical charcoal mask either, it's a thick gray-tinted gel. It did heat up right away and really felt like it was 'opening' your pores. The packaging states that you can use it two to three times per week, but I would probably use it less often, especially since the packaging only comes with four masks. I thought it was fun to try, and it didn't irritate my sensitive skin. I think it might be something to use before a hydrating overnight mask or during a girly night in as the results feel so immediate.

Would you try this one minute mask?
