Favourites | November Beauty

I can't believe the holiday season is here! I have been a little MIA this week, but I am hoping the craziness will calm down. As it's the last day of November I thought I would squeeze in a November Beauty Favourites post in between finishing up my Ph.D. apps! A lot of my October Favourites remain, but I have added quite a few things to the rotation.

I have been using the Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light basically like everyday this month. The contour shade is a bit darker and more ashy than my usual Nars Laguna, making it work well for the fall and winter seasons. Though I don't use the highlight shade as much as the contour, it's beautiful when I want a more amped up highlight.

The tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation has been a favourite previously but that was quite a while ago in the spring. I am actually finding I like it more in the fall and winter as it's quite long-lasting and the texture is hydrating. Unfortunately, this shade isn't the best match for me, but it works fine when I apply it with a BeautyBlender.

For nail polish, two of my favourites are Zoya Chita and Zoya Payton. Hunter green and plummy burgundy are just quintessential fall shades for me, and the unique finishes of both polishes make them more unique. I definitely will be using these all winter as well.

I love pine scents, and I enjoyed my little travel size of Illume Balsam and Cedar. Even with this small size, the scent throw was amazing. I will definitely be picking up a larger size as it's the perfect December scent as well as being a November favourite.

For my hair, I have been loving Organix Moroccan Argan Oil. Though I would love to just use pure Argan oil on my hair, I just have way too much of it to be financially responsible. This oil is inexpensive and leaves my hair soft, smooth, and more manageable. I apply it all over on damp hair and a teeny-teeny bit on my ends on dry hair.

I picked up a little sample vial of the Josie Maran Argan Oil Light as a perk at Sephora and am so glad I tried it. I have been using this as a nightly face moisturizer. I have oily skin, but the weather has been so cold and windy. The light version seems to be the perfect balance. Plus, when applying it on my face, it bonuses as a cuticle oil.

An eyeshadow combination I can't stop wearing is Wet n Wild Nutty over the lid and Wet n Wild Knock on Wood Eyelid shade in the outer-v. The mauve shade makes a nice transitional colour as well. It incorporates the gorgeous cranberry shades of fall while being wearable for everyday. These shadows are so inexpensive for the quality.

Nars Sin might be my ultimate favourite this month. I have been wearing it basically everyday since I bought it. It's a gorgeous plum blush with golden shimmer. Perfect for fall and winter weather. It's super pigmented and lasts all day too.

What were some of your favourites this November?

  1. At first I didn't really like that Illume candle, but after I smelled it a couple of times the scent really grew on me. Now I love it!
