Ipsy | MyGlam August 2013

From North Carolina to Georgia to New York, my Ipsy bag has finally arrived. I have to admit I checked out "My Glam Room" early after finding out my bag would be delayed. I already knew I would love it, and I was anxiously awaiting it's arrival.

Bag Breakdown
Michael Todd True Organics | Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask
Mica Beauty | Shimmer Powder 17 Bronze
Urban Decay | Revolution Lipstick 69
Pixi | Lash Booster Mascara No.2 Blackest Black
Smashbox | Photo Finish Foundation Primer

I love checking up on the spoilers for my subscription services and was ecstatic to learn that this month Ipsy was going to sample Michael Todd Organics and Urban Decay's new lipsticks. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick was going to be an either/or item, and I was crossing my fingers that I would be lucky enough to sample it. I received the shade 69, a red with a slight pink undertone. Though I have quite a few red lipsticks (& unfortunately don't get too much use out of them), I am really curious to see if I like the formula. The sample is super cute too. There were two choices for Michael Todd Organic products and again I got the one I was hoping for, the Pumpkin Nutrient Rich Facial Mask (lucky month for me!). I have been mask obsessed recently and have been really wanting to try a glycolic acid mask for exfoliation, plus I absolutely love pumpkin. I feel like this month my bag reflected me as a beauty consumer. I am excited to try the Pixi Lash Boosting Mascara as I am always up to trying new mascaras. The Mica Beauty Shimmer Powder in Bronze is a gorgeous colour (reminds me of UD Chopper) and goes on super smooth. I love using face primers so the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is the type of product I would go for (unfortunately Smashbox endorses tests on animals to sell in China, so I will have to pass it along to someone else.)

I thought it was funny that my nail polish, Zoya Daul, matched the bag! The bag is the same style as the April bag, but purple with a gold design. I love the colour scheme, but the design is kind of juvenile with the "Glamour Academy"  logo. Though the bag is a little young, I am glad the products were more "grown-up", which was my initial concern with subscribing to Ipsy. Overall, the mask and lipstick automatically made this bag a winner for me. If you want to join Ipsy, you can click my link here.

What did you think of this month's Ipsy MyGlam bag?

  1. Wow, they are really stepping it up. I used to be subscribed for three months when they were still Myglam. I am sorely tempted to try them out again. Thanks for the post!

    1. I have really enjoyed being a member! I didn't subscribe until April since I saw some of the earlier bags and was a bit skeptical if I would like it. So far, I haven't been disappointed!
