Julep Maven | February 2013

I resubscribed to Julep Maven & am so happy I did! I just received my box for February, and I am in love with all the nail polishes. I just had to use them right away! The theme for this month was "Get on the A-List" and the polishes are from the "Glamour Collection".  The polishes were inspired by famous Hollywood actresses.

I chose the Bombshell box, and it featured two nail colours, the Freedom Polymer Top Coat, the Oxygen Nail Treatment, an eyelash curler, & two milk chocolate hearts.

I right away knew I had to use all of these polishes! I used the Oxygen Nail Treatment as a base (though it is intended to be used on it's own). I can't vouch for any benefits seeing as I have only used it once. It gives your nails sheer pink coverage. I love the frosted bottle.

Seeing as I wanted to try out everything I painted my nails with two coats of Laura on my thumb, index, & pinky finger and two coats of Ginger on my middle & ring finger. Both of these polishes have an amazing formula. I really didn't even need to use a second coat. Laura is the perfect grayed out green and Ginger is a gorgeous holographic nude. Laura is the same hue as Zoya Noot but a lighter tone which makes it appear truly green. I tend to find nudes boring so I hardly wear them, but I love how Ginger has holographic finish; it makes wearing a light colour way more fun.

I topped them off with the Freedom Polymer Top Coat.  It is amazingly shiny. My nails looked like they were still wet for days! This top coat can air dry or you can cure it by placing your nails under a 60 watt light bulb. I had to try out the light bulb method & found the only 60 watt in my apartment. Using that method it dried very quickly. I did impatiently smudge my pinky before I put it under the light. I need to stop painting my nails right before I have to go somewhere!

Overall, I am so happy with this box; it was well worth $20! Are you a Julep Maven? Which style did you choose or did you skip this month?
