The main thing I wanted was the (Malin + Goetz) 1 oz. Essential Kit. I have an upcoming weekend trip to D.C., and this set is just too perfect. Plus, I have tried both the Vitamin E Facial Moisturizer and the Cilantro Conditioner and love them. My philosophy for spending Birchbox points is to try something that might seem a bit too expensive for those real dollars. I have heard so many positive things about the It's a 10 Miracle Leave-In Hair Treatment, but at twenty dollars for an almost travel-sized bottle, it seemed a little much. 200 points on the other hand, why not give it a try? It also came with a sample of their hair mask. Score. I'm a sucker for stationery and love Rifle Paper Co., but again, a bit too pricey for something I don't need. I picked up the Rosalie Notepad. I am a crazy list maker, and this pad is gorgeous. The quality definitely makes it worth the price, even though I will always love the Target dollar section... Finally, with any order I make sure to throw in a Mystery Sample Pack. It can be a bit of a bust, but I am quite happy with these two! I had already received the Coola Tinted Matte Mineral Sunscreen in a past Birchbox. I love Coola sunscreens and having these little tubes makes it easy to remember to SPF. The second sample I got was Ruby Wing Nail Polish in Kitten Heels. It changes colour in the sun! Can't go wrong with a mini polish.
So I got all of this for, well, free! My biggest tips for spending your BB points like a champ are: save up your points; wait for a discount code (I had a 21% off anniversary code); and check the bonus shop (the mystery sample pack is free with orders over $35). Also, it's easy to get free shipping when you spend over $50, are getting something that was featured in the monthly box, or are part of the Birchbox Aces program. I can't wait to try all my new goodies and will make sure to let you know if I discover any new favs! If you want to join Birchbox, you can follow my link here.
Have you ordered anything from the Birchbox shop lately?
