Light Spring Jackets

I love to layer. Usually it's with a huge sweater or scarf, but when the weather warms up that option is not always feasible. Even with the huge handbag to shove it in. I decided to update my wardrobe a bit for spring by adding some lightweight jackets. An easy addition to make a simple tee & skinny jeans combo look put-together-without over-heating.

I mentioned this fall my search for the utilitarian/military/anorak jacket, and though I didn't end up purchasing one then, I now found the look in an easy, breezy spring style. I love the mushroom taupe shade and the chiffon fabric. A huge trend this Spring are kimono-inspired jackets. Loving layering like I do, I knew I had to add one to my wardrobe. I first started searching Forever 21 but ended up finding this one at Nordstrom Rack. I love that it has bright colours-yellow, coral, and green but in a delicate feathery print on a creme background. I am planning out so many outfits in my head- skinny jeans & ankle boots during the transitional phase and high-waisted shorts & gladiator sandals during peak temperatures.

Both these jackets are from the brand Daniel Rainn which is available at Nordstrom & Nordstrom Rack. Now the weather in NYC is unfortunately still coat worthy, but I am crossing my fingers that I'll be able to wear my new kimono jacket to the Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend!
