Plaid Nail Art

My fall themed posts just keep coming! I thought I would use a classic fall design as inspiration for nail art. The design is a plaid pattern featuring many of my favourite fall polishes. A simpler version of the Burberry check.

I used Zoya Jacqueline as the base, a nice ivory neutral. Next, I made horizontal and vertical stripes using a stripper nail art brush with Julep Coco (burgundy), OPI I saw...U saw...We saw...Warsaw (navy), and Zoya Natty (deep army green). Pretty simple!

Unfortunately, I had an issue with my top coat smudging my lines. Hate it when that happens! Seche Vite is the only top coat that has never done that, but the chemicals, shrinkage, and inevitable goopy-ness have led me to seek out alternatives. Any good non-smearing top coat recommendations?

Overall, I am loving the fall, cozy vibe. I love the classic colour combination but next time might include a metallic polish to add some interest!

Would you try plaid nail art?
