The actual box this month has a 'Sparkle and Shine' embossing and the lining is a gold and white diagonal striped pattern. I love when the Birchbox's are a little bit different. As for the products inside, I am most excited about the Acure Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. They smell like marzipan-super sweet almonds. I think that might be my favourite scent in the world. They also state that they are vegan, gluten-free, sulfate free, paraben free, phthalate free, artificial fragrance free, cruelty free, and biodegradable. Well now, all of that makes me a very happy person. Another plus, the full size retails for $9.99, making these potential staples in my routine. I hate when I end up loving something and then finding out it is too extravagantly priced for me to purchase it full size. Especially, with things like shampoo and conditioner which I go through so fast (well, probably a lot slower now that I cut my hair.) Each of the samples are 2 ounces making them large for sample sizes yet small enough to travel with. I haven't tried them yet, so I am crossing my fingers hoping I like them! I love bergamot and ocean scents and hand cream is essential, so I am happy to try the Antica Farmacista Hand Cream. I usually keep my hand cream in my purse, but this unfortunate tear off paper pouch packaging will keep that from happening. As far as first impressions, it's an okay hand cream. The scent is an orangey-floral, and the cream is thick but absorbs quickly. I am actually not too keen on the scent despite loving the descriptors. Not convincing enough to ever purchase, especially since I still love the hand lotion by Minus 417. Next in my box is the LashFusion XL. I am always game for trying a new mascara. This sample size is pretty nice too. The description says it's a drier formula, and I typically prefer wetter ones, so we shall see. Finally, as a lifestyle extra, I received the Chuao Chocopod chocolate in Pop Corn Pop. Upon first reading the name, I figured it to be chocolate covered popcorn. I was pretty surprised when I discovered it was filled with pop rocks. It does have the salty chocolate combo going on, but additionally, it literally pops. I quite enjoyed it. I definitely want to try some other flavours; the honeycomb one caught my attention. Yum. Also included this month, was a card about their mobile app which had a little screen cleaner attached.
If you want to join Birchbox, you can follow my link here. You probably know by now, it's $10 a month. But considering you basically get a dollar for every review to spend in the BB Shop, it practically brings it down to $5 a month. And you can't beat that.
What did you get in this month's Birchbox?
Nice box! I'm still waiting for mine, but I'm quite envious about the chocolate. It sounds amazing!
