Clutch Essentials

I am a big bag carrying girl. I like to know that I am prepared for anything and everything. It can be difficult to downsize into a smaller bag and even more so, a clutch. But there are some nights when I know I don't need (or particularly want) to lug around a bag that can literally fit my MacBook on top of all the usual purse items, with room to spare. So here are my essential (& a few just in case) products I would pack in a clutch for a date night, event, or any circumstance of the sort.

So first things first,  Keys (duh), ID, Card, & Cash (of course), and iPhone (given). Okay, now that we have that out of the way... On nights out, I either go with a smokey eye and nude lip or an old Hollywood glam look with a bold red lip. Model Co. Party Proof Matte Lipstick in Get Naked has been my go-to nude as of late. stila Stay all Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso is a great long-wearing perfect red. With it's doe foot applicator, you won't have to worry about bringing additional brushes or liners to touch up. Though, you might not even need to with its staying power.

Honestly, I rarely touch up my face products. It's just too much effort. Instead I focus on primers and setting sprays during my morning make-up routine to increase longevity. But if you are going to an important occasion, you might want to bring some products to keep your complexion intact. For that I would bring, Boscia oil-blotting sheets, Elf Translucent Mattifying Powder, and a concealer that can be used on many different places on your face and is easy to blend with a finger such as Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer. Another thing I don't bother too much with is reapplying perfume (most perfumes tend to last all day for me). But for night I like to change up my scent from my usual fresh, fruity notes to something warmer and sweeter such as MCMC Phoenix. A sample vial doesn't take up much room, and a splash of fragrance can be quite uplifting.

A definite non-essential (but would be great if you needed it) are Whish Deodorant Swipes. The foil packet is easy to bring with you and very discreet. Not something you need for every occasion, but if you know it's going to be a long night or a crowded place, it would be a nice thing to have as an instant refresher. Finally, I have some truly essential (can't leave home without) products.  I love the Bath & Body Works Pocket Bacs hand-sanitizers. They are cute, tiny, and come in a wide range of scents. This here is Caribbean Escape. Though I might be leaving the house with my hair down and flow-y, I guarantee I will be putting it up for at least some part of the night, so a hair-tie is a must. Not pictured but pretty necessary- mints, gum, etc.

What are your clutch bag essentials?

  1. Lovely blog. I too am coveting a great army green utility jacket. : ) And that polish is amazing and perfect for Fall.
