May Favourites | Beauty

So apparently it is June now (time is going by so quickly!), so I thought I would share my favourite beauty products of the past month. I have been mostly using my favourites from previous months, but I few new standouts have been incorporated into my routine.

Real Techniques Duo-Fiber Contour Brush
tarte Amazonian clay blush in Magic
Essie First Timer
Julep Lipstick in Satin Doll
UD Naked Basics Palette
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum
The Body Shop Body Butters in Coconut & Strawberry

I am a sucker for Limited Edition items, feeling as though I must purchase it before it runs out. Such was the case when I ordered the Real Techniques Duo-Fiber collection. The Contour Brush is the one from this set that I use everyday. I find that it is perfect for using with highlighters. The duo-fiber picks up just the right amount of product, giving you a glowing look without being overly shimmering.

I love all my tarte blushes (& wish I had more). They last all day, look beautiful, and have great pigmentation. This month I have been using Magic quite often. It's a great matte coral colour, perfect for spring and summer. The matte finish makes it appropriate for work and school for being such a bright colour.

Blue-green polishes are my favourite so I knew I had to pick up Essie First Timer from the Resort collection. It is the perfect spring/summer green! This shade is a bright, blue-based green and the formula is great.

My most worn lip product this month has been Satin Doll lipstick from Julep. The bright poppy red colour goes on sheer making it easy to apply and wear. The colour is perfect for the warmer months and the citrus scent is very refreshing. Though it's very moisturizing, the colour can sink into fine lines on your lips. I always put on a balm first so that the wash of colour is even.

The Naked Basics palette has instantly become a staple in my routine. Even though I usually have a satin or shimmery finish lid colour, this palette is the perfect complement for any look. It is perfect for blending, adding depth, and highlighting. The creamy formula makes it very easy to mix so you can custom make all the shades in between (WOS + Naked 2 and Naked 2 + Faint are new shade favourites of mine).

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum was a product I was longing to try! Luckily, it was easy to find and have shipped to my location in the US (I ordered from Asos.) Unfortunately, picking the right shade is not so easy. My second try proved better though I think I could even go a shade lighter (here's to hoping I get a tan this summer!) Anyway, I love this foundation! It gives a lightweight coverage, the finish is very natural (not to matte, not too glowy), and it smells deliciously fruity. The price is great for the quality, and the packaging is nice as well. This is my new everyday foundation, and I don't see that changing for awhile!

I can't believe I haven't tried The Body Shop Body Butters before! I picked up a couple of the small pots to try, I chose Coconut and Strawberry. They smell absolutely amazing and are super moisturizing, while not being too-too heavy. I am completely addicted now and will have to order full-sizes! Both scents are perfect and smell just like the fruits in a natural way (which can be a hard feat especially for strawberry scents which always smell more like artificial candies than fruit).

So there are some of my new favourites!
What were your favourites this May?
