Julep Maven | January 2015

Someone forgot to skip Julep Maven last month... It's cool though at least I have a few new surprise beauty products. I haven't got a Julep box in awhile, make that exactly a year. I have ordered things since then (For Christmas, I got my mom the Birthstone Collection.) I just have too much polish to get a box every month, but it seems Julep is getting more and more beauty items. The collection this month is Chrysalis. I think there was also a top coat that could change the look of the polish for limited boxes. I have no idea.

Gel Eye Glider in Olive

Casey is such a pretty teal shade. I love teals for winter and summer too; so it's a nice all year-round shade. It looks very similar to American Apparel's Peacock. I am excited to try the gel liner. The olive shade is pretty-neutral with a twist. Just swatching it on my hand, it really does glide. Very smooth and opaque. I didn't know what to think about the Luxe Lip Conditioning Treatment. In general, I'm not a big fan of tube lip products. I was so scared of a sticky, globby gloss. Trying it though it feels more like a balm, and the colour is very sheer. It has a fancy-schmancy metal applicator. I also got a code for a free polish with a $15 purchase (Maybe because I didn't get the top coat?) I need to order some more Ta-Da! drops, so I will have to add on a polish.

If I remembered to skip, I probably wouldn't have picked this box, but I definitely am not disappointed. I like all the colours in the Chyrsalis collection, though I already have similar shades. I just have too much polish. Julep does have nice colours and formulas, so if you aren't a hoarder already like myself, then I highly recommend Julep Maven.
