Birchbox | June 2014

'Away We Go' is the theme of this month's Birchbox. I always think of my monthly box as a supply of perfectly sized beauty bits for a vacation. I believe my first ever Birchbox was a travel theme as well. They seem to do this theme every year at the beginning of summer, and though I just got back from a trip to D.C., I am eager to travel again.

Box Breakdown
Dr. Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Vitalising Body Wash
LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in Bees Knees
Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum
Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes
Catherine Malandrino Fragrance

I love the little boarding pass travel quiz and cards. I love when BB does touches like this. Of course, being the indecisive person I am, I had a 3-way tie for my travel destination. You can also take a picture of your box or the quiz for a chance to win a ticket with JetBlue (for the details, you can go to Birchbox.com/rules).

Back to the samples. I am so happy to finally receive the LAQA & Co. Lip Lube! I have seen these samples around for quite some time, first with their regular line of lip chubbies and then with these sheer versions. I got the shade Bees Knees, wish looks to be the perfect peachy coral. It smells like sweet mint. I can't wait wear it! Though it's a mini, it's a great size-you can actually twist it up. I have also seen the Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes around in past boxes. When I saw them, I wasn't too thrilled. There are much more exciting beauty products than those for your feet. Plus, it seemed a bit gimmicky- do you really need a separate product to clean your feet? But after those 20 miles in D.C., I could have used these. And I will probably find more occasions to this summer too; though I doubt I will repurchase-it's just too much of a uni-tasker that needs a specific situation to be used. I was impressed by the size for this sample, a pack of 10 wipes. I also received a sample of Dr. Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Vitalising Body Wash. The sample size and packaging really made me think it was a facial skincare product which would have peaked my interest a bit more. It does smell amazing, but I'm not one to splurge on body wash. The resealable aluminum packaging is nice, but small for a body wash there are only two, maybe three, uses. Next up, I got a little sample of Caudalie Polyphenol C15 Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum and Catherine Malandrino Fragrance. The fragrance smells good, but nothing too unique-your typical fruity floral hybrid. I am a bit over the designer/celebrity fragrances, but if you aren't as jaded as I am, it's a nice summery scent.
