Trying New Things...

I picked up a few new drugstore make-up items recently and decided to try them out and document the results. These items were all listed in my Spring Make-up Wishlist. So here are my first impressions of these new releases.

I have to say I am in love with these Elf Smudge Pots. Expect a full review soon. Today, I used Back to Basics all over the lid. I didn't even apply a shadow over it! It's such a pretty gold. I also used a bit of Urban Decay's Naked Basics for the crease. My eye make-up still looked perfect by the end of the day with no creasing or signs of wear. The adorable packaging of the Physician's Formula Nude Wear Concealer/Highlighter in Nude Glow is what really sold me, but I have to say I am quite liking the results. At first I feared with one shade that it would be too dark for my skin tone, but the colour is a salmon shade making it perfect for cancelling out under-eye dark circles rather than adding extra coverage. The click-pen style would make it nice to keep in your purse for touch ups, but then you might risk the little bow breaking. My packaging came with a $5 off instantly coupon, so keep a look out for that (plus, I think they gave me 40% off as well, making it two dollars....Score.) To complete the look, I decided to try out the Elf Essential Ex-tra Lipgloss in Marc. It's a nice medium pink toned coral shade. The gloss isn't sticky at all and is quite pigmented. It's not long-wearing but that's pretty typical with glosses.

It was raining again all day, but I liked having a bit of spring in my make-up to brighten the day. I would definitely recommend checking out some of these products. Hopefully the rain won't last all month seeing as my indoor lighting is troublesome, and there is an exercise ball behind my head...

Have you tried any of these products?

  1. That Physician's Formula concealer is quite adorable! It sorta reminds me of Etude House's pretty pink packagin.
